The U.S. – Montenegro Business Council is a private organization whose members are comprised of United States and Western Balkan businesses. The U.S. – Montenegro Business Council encourages trade and promotes business and commercial ties between the United States and the Western Balkans (through Montenegro). In order of fulfill this mission, the U.S. – Montenegro Business Council:

• Makes available to its members a forum whereby they can familiarize themselves with the business opportunities available in the United States, Montenegro, and the Western Balkans;
• Provides its members with a format by which to understand the intricacies of United States, Montenegro, and Western Balkan commercial relations so that they may effectively pursue business opportunities;
• Provides information regarding business and investment opportunities in Montenegro; and
• Provides an environment that allows its members to easily identify appropriate institutions and individuals who can assist them in resolving difficulties that may arise.

By fulfilling its mission, the U.S. – Montenegro Business Council creates a competitive advantage for its members by providing them with the resources and knowledge necessary to successfully pursue business opportunities in the United States, Montenegro, and the Western Balkans. 

Additionally, the U.S. – Montenegro Business Council has the distinct honor of overseeing and mangaing the State of Maryland’s foreign trade office in Montenegro.   The State of Maryland established a foreign trade office in the Western Balkans (headquartered in Podgorica) through the efforts of the U.S. - Montenegro Business Council.  As a direct result of these efforts the State of Maryland is the first state in the United States to have a physical presence in the Western Balkans.
